Hands

Happy New Year my dears! Wow, last year just flew by. My word for this year is FOCUS. You can read more about that and last year’s word on my Facebook page, if you’d like. What is your word for 2013?

I’ve been working on some small paintings, because the oils take so long to dry in this Louisiana humidity. This one is 6″ x 12″ on cradled board. I’m very happy with it! It reminds me of when my son was small. I’ll be putting it up for sale soon. You can watch my Facebook page for that announcement, if you are interested.

I’ve caught some kind of bug for the new year, which is making me fall behind in just about everything. It’s frustrating, because I want to paint but just haven’t felt up to it. But I’m making plans on what to paint next and that is fun, too. Happy Paint Party Friday!

ETA: For some reason, my OpenID credentials are not currently working on Blogger based blogs so unless you allow Name/URL comments, I probably won’t be able to comment on your blog this week.

ETA: This is now available for  sale at  Daily Paintworks.

Melissa, what a technically beautiful painting!!! I haven’t mastered “hands” in all the years of trying. Yours are gorgeous and tell a story. Reminds me of the current photo going “viral” of the unborn baby holding onto the surgeons finger as the surgeon did a C section.

Happy new year, Melisa! That chubby little hand is just perfect. I don’t need more words – I have too many other things on which to focus. :)
