29 Faces day 14

14 Feb

Happy Valentine’s Day, my lovelies! I hope your day will be full of hugs and kisses and if not that, then at least some high quality chocolate. I drew today’s face with the online app Scribber. It’s  fun to play with, so go give it a try. I’ll be adding this guy to my journal today, if I get back from the vet in time.  I’m getting a little tired of the faces, to be honest. I want to draw imaginary animals or flowers or something, but I don’t have time to do both. Maybe it will only be a 14 day or 18 day or 20 day challenge for me but that’s still good practice.

29 Faces day 13

13 Feb

I had Carla’s January and February sidewalk crack photos sitting here on my desk, waiting for some attention. I decided to try to find a face in one of them for today’s 29 Faces challenge image. I usually spot animals but sometimes it’s faces. This is who I found hiding in the January one. If you want to see what you can find in the cracks, just sign up for the newsletter on Carla’s blog and she’ll send you a sidewalk crack photo each month.

29 Faces days 11 & 12

12 Feb

I almost forgot to post this weekend’s faces! Of course, I see lots of things that need fixing after uploading them, but I’ve sprayed them already so this is how they’ll stay.

29 Faces day 10

10 Feb

Just time for a little funny face, today. I got a birthday card in this pretty yellow envelope and it was right here on my desk so I used it for today’s face. I’ll stick this in my journal later, but I’m out of time for today.

29 Faces day 9 in my journal

9 Feb

Yesterday’s face was more realistic so today’s is more abstract. Inspired by Satina’s one line face that she posted yesterday, I did a one liner for my journal. Only 20 more faces to go for the 29 Face Challenge. Eek, that sounds like a lot!

29 Faces day 8

8 Feb

For day 8 of the 29 Faces challenge, I played with the Mypaint program again. This time I tried paint instead of pencil. Obviously, I didn’t finish, but it’s a face. I call it The Pout. I put those colored splotches on the left because they are some of the colors I was using. If I put them right there on the image, I can easily grab them while painting and I can erase them when I am finished.

Oops! I just noticed that I forgot to put the 29 Faces tag on yesterday’s post so it wasn’t showing from the challenge link. It should show up now.

29 Faces day 7, a journal page

7 Feb

Yesterday I went for realism so today I went simple and cartoony. This guy needed to go in my journal. He had something to say. You can click the image for a larger version but if you still can’t see the words on the right page they say, “I’ve never heard you tell the world a thing” and “can you hear me.”

I’ve drawn or painted every day this week (yay!) but this is probably my favorite painted project this week so I’ll use it for this week’s Paint Party Friday.

29 Faces day 6

6 Feb

For day 6 of the 29 Faces Challenge I had  more time and wanted to work on an upturned face because I find them so much more difficult. It isn’t quite right, but I’m happy with it. DS says the nose is off but I’m tired of redrawing it so we’ll just say she ran into a pole when she was a kid, like my dear hubby. :D This one is a digital “from scratch” drawing in a program I just installed called Mypaint. It’s free and has lots of cool brushes and the ability to customize your own. There are different papers you can choose, with diffferent textures, but I forgot about that until I was half finished, LOL. This is the first time I’ve used it so I don’t know how to use all that fancy stuff yet and stuck with the pencil, finger smudge and soft eraser. I think I’m going to have fun playing with this! I’m running Linux but I’m pretty sure this is available for Windows, too.  I recommend it!
