The Three Muses have asked for something blue this week so I made a page in my journal. I found an interesting prompt and tutorial at Green Isle Crafts on tearing a random shape from a folded book page and seeing what you could make with it. Mine looked like a dog to me, among other things, so I made him a window to look out of. Maybe he’s watching a bird fly by. This journal is bigger than my scanner, so it’s a bit cropped but the important bits are there. 🙂 This was a fun prompt and I’ll be trying it again.
I love the blue window background your colours and shading are lovely.
This is very stunning and gracefully executed. WEll done.
Wow, what a great crafty idea, Melissa, love your piece, wonderful composition!
(As I write this my 11 1/2 year old Bichon is on the back of the chair looking out the window – his favourite place, little does he know he’s off to have his lipoma lumps removed tomorrow!!)
Good luck tomorrow at the vet. My Boston had a lump removed not long ago and already has another.
What a very unique and wonderful idea…I love the way it turned out…awesome work!!!
Hi M,
I’m going to have to try your technique. Love the dog.

Fabulous journal page, Melisa!
Fantastic idea and great journal page.
This looks amazing, and such a clever idea!
A great idea which has turned into a fantastic journal page. xx
Unique and beautiful! Great presentation for this theme.
Cool journal page! Interesting idea.
I love this technique and your little dog very much and his window is the most beautiful shade of blue. I think he’s waiting for an unsuspecting cat to go by!!!
you are so creative!! love it!
Wonderfully done! I didn’t know 12 was old for Boston terriers?
I didn’t either until recently. I thought all small dogs had longer life spans than the larger breeds but the vet told me ours had already lived past the average age for Bostons.
The dog is just fantastic!
Charming and a delight!!
I love this piece,,
