This week’s Summer of Color theme is Brown and the bonus is a pop of color. Matilda here is all gussied up today because the new bull is due to arrive. 🙂 I sketched her in my regular sketchbook and then painted her with watercolor but the watercolors just weren’t working right for me today. Brown is not really a watercolor kinda color, LOL. So I scanned the painting and painted right over it digitally with GIMP. Still not great but better than the mess I had before.
Love Matilda! 🙂 She looks awesome to me. I wouldn’t have guessed you colored her digitally. 🙂
Oooh…, this is the prettiest brown cow I’ve seen in a long time! Really! 🙂 I love the way you did it in brown! And with the “pop” of the red flower! My daughter said “Look at that sweet cow!”, so she too is all with me on this! 😉
Matilda is wonderful, I love that flower tucked into her top knot!
I LOVE Matilda!!
You did a fabulous job with brown week!

Wonderful! I LOVE HER! And I too am so surprised that there is digital work here too – what a great combination of both your sketch and digital coloring. And the flower in her hair is fab. Thank you for sharing, xo

Your blog is delightful. I hope Matilda’s big date went well!
What a great transformation (although I don’t know what you consider a “mess”, so …)!
LOL, let’s just say I’m not brave enough to post the “before” version with watercolor only. It’s baaaaad.
Beautiful watercolour painting.
