Happy Paint Party Friday, everyone! I’ve missed everyone at the party the last couple of weeks and was determined to have something to show this week. I guess I wouldn’t call this a work in progress, since I don’t plan to finish it. I ran out of play time before I got much done to the hair or background, but I’m not liking the colors overall so I won’t go back to it. It’s just for practice, in my faces sketchbook. I did like the original sketch and should have planned my colors before just jumping in. It is mixed media, mostly watercolor, gesso and colored pencil.
Good shading. . . I am glad you drew/painted her. Blessings, Janet PPF

wow, i really like this, colors and everything! and i wouldn’t have known it wasn’t finished. i think it’s gorgeous!
LOVELY!
Wow, I think you are being a little harsh I love the delicate nature of this beauty, the bluish shadows & the colour of her hair, but maybe it doesn’t need anything else anyway, I think it’s quite haunting & pleased you shared it 🙂
Well I think she’s lovely, I do so love a redhead! ~Happy Paint Party Friday! #10 Robin Panzer Art Studio 33
I love the colours actually, especially under the cheekbone on the left hand side… really delicate xx
Well to me she look gorgeous.. I am not good at faces at all.. I have tried a couple. And lets just say I need a lot of help…
Happy PPF!!
Very nice colors! I like them.
i think this is lovely actually, really soft colours of a beautiful ethereal red haired lady. i think you are too hard on yourself!
What are you talking about? She is gorgeous! 🙂
I agree with everyone else you are being way too hard on yourself. She has a great enthreal quality. Happy PPF, Annette x
Well, practice or not, I think this is really lovely, but I know what you mean about feeling like something that doesn’t go in the “keep” pile.
I love her red hair and blue eyes. She’s lovely.
Happy PPF.
Melisa, I like the colors. The purplish shadow is wonderful with the fiery hair. Most of my female paintings have red hair. It shows up so well (and also my g.d. has red hair). You do draw faces beautifully.
Lovely art work ~ Understand how you feel ~ have pieces that just don’t work for me (especially when I rush something) she is still quite lovely! ~thanks, namaste, Carol (Share the Creative Journey) Happy PPF ^_^
I think she is quite lovely!
I think she’s beautiful and a bit mysterious. Thanks for sharing!! Happy PPF!
she looks good. i like the use of light on her face and the hair color is my fave!
I really like this, and I was surprised to hear that you don’t- her expression is great, so pensive- LOVE it!
thanks for sharing this even though you don’t like it. I’m determined to improve my faces and I love studying other people’s techniques. (I’d be thrilled if my paintings came out as “bad” as this. lol).
Very Nice!!! I love her hair 🙂
I love the colors you’ve selected…perfect fall fun!
She seems to be a hit – it’s a good thing she got an airing. It would have been a shame to leave her in your sketchbook, never seeing the bloggy light of day. 🙂
I think she looks lovely. I like the autumnal colors.
Wow..what a beauty..this is my fave of yours..her spirit is strong and vibrant..I love the look in her face and the expression of her eyes..the colors and shading are stunning..beautiful!

Pretty! I really like the color of her hair. 🙂
Love her red hair!! 🙂
Hi, I’m back to see what you’ve done for PPF this week. I love last week’s redhead. She is gorgeous and complete as far as I’m concerned. Happy Friday!
Hi Faye! I didn’t post anything for PPF this week because I didn’t get anything photographed before the sun went down. I’ll have something to show next week, though! Thanks for dropping by!
