A couple of weeks ago, the challenge at Daily Paintworks was to go on a virtual vacation with Google Maps and paint that location. I’m always a bit late to the party, but I did have my virtual vacation. It just took me a long time to decide on a place and then choose a spot! I chose Hoy, in the Orkney Islands. It was beautiful! I loved the mountains (not something you see here in Louisiana!) , the fields and the moody skies. I thought this was the perfect spot to set up my easel and paint. This is 12″ x 6″, oil on gessoboard panel. To zoom in on it, you can go here and hover over the photo.

I really love the grass and sky … and some of us might see those as more like very big hills. 🙂
Beautiful and magical scene. Happy PPF, Annette x
