I worked on this little story block on and off yesterday. It suited my mood. My fingers were so sticky with accumulated layers of gel medium by the end of the day that I thought I’d never get them clean. That’s a good day. 🙂

Prismacolor Birds
Still having fun with Summer Art Camp when I can. The last 3 days, we’ve had some cute bird projects. When I got home last night, I curled up on the couch and drew 2 prismacolor birds. I like the way Diane Culhane showed us to cut them out so they will stand up on their own. I haven’t cut the owl out yet but the other bird is perched on the mantle.
It’s not too late to Win a Monster from yesterday’s post.
Win a Monster!
ETA: And using Random.org, the winner is kippiann!
Summer Art Camp this week had us painting monsters with Karine Swenson. Karine is delightful and I really enjoyed painting my little monster. My model is a tiny little 1″ troll (not counting his huge hair!) that I got from a gumball machine years ago. Would you like to win the painting? Leave one comment saying you want to win and anything else you’d like to say and be sure to fill out the email address part of the comment form. Your email won’t show up here; only I will see it. Comments will count toward the drawing til Monday at midnight. I’ll do a random drawing sometime next week for the winner. US only, so I can afford the shipping, cuz I’m a starving artist, LOL. The painting is 5×7, oil on canvas panel. Happy Paint Party Friday!
Summer Art Camp 1 Liners
It’s back to school time here and also time for me to get back to my poor neglected blog. I was very lucky last week and won a spot at Carla Sonheim’s online Summer Art Camp! Anyone who knows Carla knows that means a fun time. Camp had already started when I won so I’m a little behind but doing what I can, when I can. Today, I’ll be painting a monster with Karine Swenson, who is absolutely delightful. If it turns out cute, I may give it away here, so stay tuned. I’ll probably post him Friday. Here are a few one line flowers I did for one of the warm-up exercises. I always forget how much I love one liners. I’m supposed to color these but I think I prefer them in black and white this time.
I did finish a little 6×6 for the Virtual Paintout last month and just need to get it uploaded. Greece was a beautiful virtual visit and this month we are at Kinmen Island.
